I mentioned a while back that I participated in a challenge with a lovely French blogger. The idea behind Gisele’s “150 challenge” is to have a look from head to toe under 150 euros. We met in the garden of the Palais Royale in Paris and she took pictures of my look. Here is the original version, in French, in Gisele’s blog called “Gisele is Nerdy“. I’m adding the English version in this post with some pictures of my look. Hope you enjoy!
What do you do and how old are you?
I’m a chemical engineer; I have worked in the cement and oil & gas industry for some years. However, due to an economic shift, I was laid off so for now I take care of my baby boy. I’m 34 years old but I feel like I’m 25 😉
What is the most expensive piece in your closet? And the least expensive?
Ouuu! The most expensive is a pair of Louboutins that I got as a gift for my 30th birthday. The least expensive is a bracelet that I bought in Portugal for 3 euros.
How do you fill your closet?
It depends, I don’t usually say “I’m going shopping” because usually I don’t find things that I like and I’m not a fan of the sales because there’s just too many people. However, if I see something that I really like then I’ll buy it. I need it to tell me “buy me”. And, sometimes, my husband buys me a cute piece 😉
What’s missing in your closet? Do you have something in mind that you’d like to have?
To be honest, I don’t really “need” anything but I’d really like a suit either in color or in prints
What is your monthly budget for shopping?
I don’t have one. I should have a budget but it’s been a while since I haven’t done a good shopping spree. I buy pieces if I have the money and if I really like them.
What’s your best address to go shopping in Paris?
Hmmm I don’t have one. I can buy some pieces in a small store in a random street or I can just go to Zara. I think the key is to walk around and go in the stores whenever you see something you like.
What is style to you?
Besides being a way of expressing ourselves, it’s a “way of being”, a lifestyle. I think that style is part of our personality.
How do you choose your outfits when you wake up?
If I have something planned, I can choose my outfit the day before. If not, it’ll depend on my mood of the day.
How many shoes do you, approximately, have?
Somewhere around 40 and 50, and I want more !
You have a blog with your sister, what was the click to have one?
The fact that we are so different even though we are sisters. There are a lot of “sisters’ blogs” but it’s usually by twins or sisters that look alike. We also wanted to share a hobby, share the things that we like the most with others, and maybe inspire someone.
What’s your worst fashion faux pas?
I went to school in pijama pants. It was my last year as a Senior in High School in the US.
What is one thing that I didn’t ask but that you’d like to share with us?
That being a Mother should not inhibit our personal style. Even if we’re Moms, we can have fun with the pieces that we have in our closets, play with different looks and be conformable with ourselves.
